Winter/Spring 2007 Announcements I am once again an Artist-in-Residence at the Makor/Steinhardt Center and we will be holding our anual Ten By Ten exhibition and accompanying auction, as part of MANiFest, the Makor Artists Network Festival, and curated in conjunction with ARTis, Israeli Art Week in New York City. I will be presenting a new body of work entitled Episodic Memorial, exploring the psychology of children who eperience the trauma of war, and the accompanying displacement and loss of identity. Special emphasis is placed on the concept of the Home Town and how its violent dismantling may be imagined in the child's memory. Ten By Ten Ten By Ten presents 5 individual bodies of work by artists from the Makor Artists-in-Residence Alumni Program. These artists deal with architectural structures, daily imagery, and present a visual lexicon that redefines their perception of urbanity. Participating Artists include Makor Artists-in-Residence Alumni: Stacy Arezou-Mehrfar, Meirav Leshem, Barbara Lubliner, Keren Moscovitch and Yona Verwer. Curators: Ofri Cnaani, Ayelet Danielle Aldouby Makor Gallery, 35 West 67 St Arrive early for Regaining Control, a panel discussion on the role of art fairs as the new art power house, the increasing control artists are gaining over their careers vis a vis art fairs, galleries, dealers and collectors, and other related issues. Fall 2006 Announcements I have moved into a new studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The location is 117 Dobbin St (no mail, please) and I welcome anyone who would like a studio visit to contact me. Additionally, the Art + Commerce Festival of Emerging Photographers has officially come to an end in Stockholm, Sweden, after a very successful world tour. The festival visited Tokyo, Milan, Madrid and Stockholm, after an initial debut in DUMBO, Brooklyn in October of 2005. On Tuesday, November 14, the Society of Publications Designers (SPD) will be holding an auction to raise proceeds for programs for young photographers. Over 100 photographs will be auctioned (one of which is mine) at Harry's Loft, 29 East 19th St, starting at 5:30pm for the Silent Auction and 8:30pm for the Live Auction. On Wednesday November 29, 2006, the ARTWALK NY auction will be taking place, and I am honored to not only be featured in the auction and the preview show at Barney's, but also to have been on the donations committee. ARTWALK NY has become one of New York City's largest and most anticipated annual art benefit auctions, with proceeds benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless. The event will take place at the Puck Building at 295 Lafayette St, with the Silent Auction beginning at 6:30pm and the Live Auction at 8:00pm.
